In the midst of political campaigns ahead of the 2019 Nigerian Presidential election, High Definition Film Studio premieres new political thriller “If I Am President”.

Set in the present-day political terrain and discourse in Nigeria, the movie is a timely political thriller as it captures the current political situation of the country. It tells the story of a young political aspirant Zinachi Ohams of the Nigerian Rebirth Party, a new party made up of young idealists who has to push into the murky and rough political terrain, armed with little more than ideals and having to wade through challenges of nasty political attacks.

 

Other themes addressed in the movie include women in power, citizen participation in elections, Power tussle, Violence, Unity and many more.

The movie had its world premiere in Abuja on October 20th and also recently premiered in the “City of Excellence,” Lagos State, with stars gracing the red carpet.

“If I Am President is a movie that will challenge the status quo and change our narrative as a nation. It is a wakeup call to all Nigerians.” Bright Wonder Obasi.

The movie features Veteran actors Joke Silva and Bimbo Manuel and other notable actors like Ayo Ayoola, Rahama Sadau, Bryan Okwara, Victor Decker, Rekiya Atta, Ayo Ayoola, Kayode Aiyegbusi and Ivie Okujaye.

Talking about his character as Zinachi Ohams in the political thriller, Ayo Ayoola, the lead actor stated:

“My character was a young presidential candidate. So in this movie; we’re going to see his challenges, his triumphs. We are hoping that this movie will shed more light on how important for the youth should stand up and take important position in this country. At the end of the day, the future of this country lies in our hands and hands of those that are yet to be born and the only way to guarantee a desirable future for our children and grandchildren would be to get involved and affect it change policies to favor this country and everyone in it,” he said.

“If I Am President” is Written and Directed by Bright Wonder Obasi and it will be showing in cinemas nationwide from November 9, 2018.
