The management of Zawya Art house Cinema announced the names of seven films participating in the 11th Panorama of European Film.
The 11th edition of the panorama will run from Nov. 7-17, 2018 and will present a total of 60 films.
The panorama’s program includes seven films competing for the Golden Pallet at the Cannes Festival 2018, while other films were granted numerous other awards.
The competing films are:
– “Image Book”
– “The Wild Pear Tree”
– “At War” (Best Director Award)
– “Happy as Lazzaro” (Best Script Award)
– “Dogman” (Best Actor Award)
It is worth noting that the 11th edition of Panorama of the European Film is divided into seven categories, where two new categories have been recently added:
– Surrealism Films
– Child/Family Films
A section is also dedicated to the works of late veteran Swedish film director Ingmar Bergman.
The remaining four categories are:
– Long Novels
– Promising Directors
– Film Documentaries
– Cinematic Icons
The 11th edition of the festival is held under the auspices of the Egyptian Film Center.

Panorama of the European Film is an annual event founded by late veteran director Youssef Chahine, founder of “Aflam Misr el-Alamiya” (Egypt’s Universal Films), and is organized by Zawya Art House Cinema. The festival focuses on the new films released in Europe.
The panorama started taking place in Egypt in 2004, in Cairo only. However, following the great success it achieved over the years, it broadened its span and is currently held in over 10 cities across the country.
