Around six months after she was appointed as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of TV Africa, Ghanaian filmmaker Shirley Frimpong-Manso has resigned her position amid mounting concerns about the company’s inability to pay its staff.
Shirley Frimpong-Manso resigned her post alongside five other top management executives of the troubled media company.
Shirley Frimpong-Manso was appointed to her post to help rebrand the company and place the station in a better position in the fiercely competitive media market after TV Africa had undergone re-branding of its programmes, style and content.
The rebranding process took on board Ghanaian politician and journalist, Obuobia Darko Opoku, actress Nikki Samonas and Khadijat El-Alawa as morning show hosts.
Shirley Frimpong Manso, who is also the CEO of Sparrow Productions, has a background in the media and has over 30 films to her credit. Her company, Sparrow Productions, was once the franchise holder of the Miss Ghana beauty Pageant.
