He may have shot to the limelight on account of his role in the much acclaimed movie, “Beast of No Nation”, but young Ghanaian actor, Emmanuel Nii Adom Quaye, popularly known as Strika has now resorted to begging for alms, even as he insists he hasn’t still been paid for the movie role that made him popular.
The star laments that after the shooting of the movie which pushed Abraham Attah, his co-star, to the limelight, a producer – Kofi Robert – informed him that his fees would be held in trust until he turned 18.
However, he has since turned 18, and even currently 19, yet not much has been said about the trust money, or even the 1% profit of the movie he should have been paid by Netflix.
Strika, who now begs on the streets on Accra to survive, says ever since Abraham Attah travelled to the USA, his behavior hasn’t been the same as he now ignores him and acts indifferently.
He however admits he was paid ¢10,000 in “Jungle Justice”, a movie he acted in after “Beast of No Nation”, but a manager by the name, Mawuko, used all the monies to buy him “clothes and shoes”.
