East meets West in this touching movie as Uganda collaborates with Nigeria on a movie project titled ‘See Through Me’.
An emotionally charged movie, it chronicles the sad life of a 15 year old girl whose huge dream of becoming a graduate and living the good comes to an abrupt end when she is married off to an elderly man due to circumstances and misfortunes of life.
She ends up bearing numerous children, eventually getting infected with the deadly HIV virus, which cuts short her life and her dreams of having a better life.
The movie dwells on the theme of domestic violence and prostitution as faced by many destitute African young women around the continent and how these vagaries of life has led many of them to their early graves. It features an array of stars, including Clem Ohameze, Yvonne Jegede, Halima Mamakula and Herbert Dembe.
‘See Through Me’ is produced and directed by Kingsley Paul Ukaegbu, while executive producer is Obidigbo Pascal Udoka. In the words of Udoka, “the film is life changing and a good view for everybody desirous of a new thematic focus.”
