United States-based Zimbabwean actress, Sibongile Mlambo is a star in Freeform Series “Siren”. The actress who is much known and adored by her fans has starred in several movies such as “Detour”, “The Last Face” , “Honey 3”, “Dare to Dance” amongst others.
The “Teenwolf” actress stars as Donna in the television series, “Siren”. “Siren” is a ten-episode, hour long drama based on a story by Eric Wald and Dean White, which takes place in a coastal town called Bristol cove. The town is known for its legend of once being a home to mermaids.
Mlambo‘s character, Donna, is a mystifying and deceptively powerful mermaid who goes on a quest to bring back her missing mermaid sister played by “Game of Thrones” star, Eline Powell. The battle between man and mermaids takes a vicious turn as the mermaids, after being deprived of food and centuries of being hunted down, strive to reclaim their rights to the ocean.
With “Siren” having a 94% critics rating and an 84% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, critics say “Siren turns traditional mermaid lore on its tale with a unique well-paced show, that presents mythical creatures in a suprisingly dangerous, empathetic and exciting light.”
Mlambo joined cast members Alex Roe, Fola Evans-Akingbola, Ian Verdun and Rena Owen late last year. Emily Whitesell is showrunner and executive producer of the “Siren”.
