Animated short film ‘Ayny’ Honoured With The Karama Feather Award For Best Jordanian Film
“Ayny”, Ahmad Saleh’s animated short film was honoured with the Karama Feather award for Best Jordanian Film at the Karama Human Rights Film Festival which took place in Jordan.
The Karama Human Rights Film Festival is an annual six-day event with the aim of bringing human right issues to the notice of all and also to raise awareness on these issues and its effect. This is made possible through its annual film screenings, workshops and discussion sessions. The festival was founded in 2010 in Amman, Jordan and since then, many human rights films have been screened, duly recognized and rewarded.
This year’s edition saw the screening and recognition of “Ayny”. The animation follows “A cruel war which takes two brothers’ home. Their mother protects them under her arms and fosters the seed of their new life, anxious her sons could come into danger if they leave the house. But the boys chase their dream to play a music instrument they’ve fallen in love with”.
Multiple awarded winning “Ayny” proved to be an exceptional piece as it bags yet another award at the Karama Human Rights Film Festival. Among the many awards bagged by Ayny in recent years are: “Best Animation at the Lebanon International Film Festival”, “Golden Oscar for Foreign Animation at the Student Academy Awards 2016”, to mention but a few.
The short animation is Written and Directed by Saleh.
