Egypt’s Ahmed Nader’s short film, ‘Wanas’ has won the Bronze Tanit award for short films at the Carthage Film festival in Tunis.

The 22-minute film followed the life of a married couple in their eighties who live alone in their house as the wife, Nabila struggles with her husband’s ill health. The award-winning short film featured stars Abdul Rahman Abou Zahra and Ragaa Hussein as the couple, Mahmoud and Nabila.

The film beat off competition from 13 other short films, including ‘Sacrilege’ by Egyptian-Swiss director Christophe Saber.
