MTV Shuga, one of Africa’s most entertaining and inspiring shows is coming back to your screen for its 6th season. The show focuses on the lives of youths in Africa and relevant issues they face while sailing through adolescence. It brings to the fore; family planning, HIV prevention, Sex Health Education, Contraception and many more youth related issues, with more focus on the girl child.

The series which gained much prominence since its first season was shot in Kenya has been the talk of the continent. Broadcasted in over 61 countries across the world and reaching over 720 million people, several youths have expressed their thoughts on the beneficial and entertaining aspects of it.

I was opportune to have seen the 3rd and 4th season of MTV shuga which was shot in Nigeria and I can say it gave me so much insight on self and societal awareness as a teen – Tamis Steve, Nigeria.

The African society naturally shies away from sex related issues, I love how the show touches all relevant sex related issues in an intriguing way – Jenny Claire, Kenya.

After a successful completion of MTV Shuga 5 which was shot in South Arica, the show is being brought back to Nigeria for its 6th season. It features MTV shuga stars Sharon Ezeamaka, Timini Egbuson and Jemima Osunde, while introducing new major casts like Segun Dada, Moses Akerele, Chinaza Ruby Akubueze, Sharon Jatto, Helena Nelson, Chimezie Imo, Tomiwa Tegbe and Nelson Ora.

Nigerian stars to also look out for in the much anticipated new season includes Funlola Aofiyebi–Raimi, Bolanle Olukanni, Nobert Young, Rahama Ibrahim Sadau and many more.

The new season which is currently at its pre-production stage will hit the TV in 2018 and it promise to be a more fascinating and educative series .
