Gbenro Ajibade and Rahama Sadau unveiled as hosts for BON 2017…


The stage is set for the 2017 Best of Nollywood (BON) awards which is scheduled to hold on Saturday, December 16, 2017 in Abeokuta, Ogun state.  Meticulously selected to host this year’s edition of one of Nolywood’s most prestigious award platform, are two of Nollywood’s vibrant and finest actors; Gbenro Ajibade and Rahama Sadau.

Prominent Maiduguri born model cum actor, Gbenro, is one of the lead characters in the popular M-net soap “Tinsel”. He has also featured in several other movies like “Gbomo Gbomo Express”, “The Wages” and most recently in AY’s “10 Days in Suncity”.  Gbenro’s dedication and significant contribution to the Nigerian entertainment world, won him the award for the Most Outstanding Actor/Model of the Year at the 2011 Nigerian Model Achievers Awards.

Co-host, Rahama Sadau who made her debut into the Hausa film industry (Kannywood) in 2013 has achieved a remarkable feat in the movie industry. Rahama played prominent roles in “Ajuwaya”, “Tatu” and “Accidental Spy”, while also featuring in Super Story and MTV’s Shuga – Season 6.  She has bagged herself awards like; Best Actress (Kannywood) at the City People Entertainment Awards in 2014 and 2015 and also Best African Actress at the 19th African Film Awards in 2015 by African Voice. The Business Administration graduate of the Kaduna Polytechnic has ever since then become a face to look out for on the Nollywood screen.

Emphasizing on why he chose these two sensational actors, the executive producer of BON, Seun Oloketuyi says:  “The choice of Rahama and Gbenro was a painstakingly debated one. Our criteria were diversity, versatility and youth; some other names came up for consideration but Gbenro and Rahama tick the boxes. And we are happy at their enthusiasm and acceptance to be a part of history.”

The BON awards cut across diverse ethnics and genres in the Nollywood scene and numerous nomination lists have been put up to reward such remarkable efforts put into the development of the movie industry.
