Toronto International Film Festival had a number of Nollywood personalities for the first screening of new romantic comedy, “The Royal Hibiscus Hotel” by EbonyLife Films.

The movie which is directed by Ishaya Bako tells the story of a passionate London based Nigerian chef, ‘Ope’ who pursues her dream of opening a restaurant in London to a dead end. Frustrated to the bone, she quits London and returns to Nigeria to help restore her family’s rundown hotel. She is heartbroken to discover that the man she loves is buying it.



Filmed in London and Nigeria, the movie stars Zainab Balogun, Kenneth Okolie, Deyemi Okanlawon, Kemi Lala Akindoju and O.C. Ukeje, with veteran actors; Rachel Oniga, Jide Kosoko, Olu Jacobs and Joke Silva.

The movie premiered on Saturday, September 9, 2017 with Kenneth Okolie, Kemi ‘Lala’ Akindoju, Jide Kosoko, Rachel Oniga and Toni Tones in attendance.

The Nigerian screen awaits a release date for the movie.
